Kenny was on Linkedin begging people not to vote NDP.

 The guy is feeling the heat either from southern Alberta or from potential voters. Or, perhaps just desperate.

What he did in this expose' was to endorse the Wild Rose Party as a successor to the UCP.  Never mind a good portion of the WRP are presently members of the UCP!  He begged business not to vote NDP!

The UCP have a problem in controlling the religious comment in their political spiel.  Fort instance Daniel Steel said "Homosexuals should burn in the fires of hell"   and "The Chase Manhattan bank saved Alberta, not the federal government.  Where in fact the chase manhattan bank financed the Mormon Temple in Salt lake for 100,000 dollars saving it from bankruptcy!  Somehow she managed to loop this into Alberta politics!  It certainly demonstrates the Mormon connection to the UCP and the WRP.  They roll out the WRP every time the principal party gets in trouble; presented as a good guy and a bad guy routine.

In the past, the Conservatives on one side and the Wild Rose Party on the other side as the ugly hard-line cousin served to put up a lively exchange in the print newspapers.    

It's good that the UCP can clearly see the exit door.  That doesn't mean the Wild Rose have a place in our politic.  And, don't forget the Red Deer MLA who was a lead Trump election organizer.  Yup; make Alberta better right out of Trump's playbook.

Brian Jean got stuck on the all-party forum.  He couldn't answer questions without checking with the Church.

The Conservatives robbed the Heritage Trust fund of 760 billion dollars the majority of the money ended up on the Texas coast. The remainder of the Heritage fund is in the hands of AIMCO who is not arm's length from the UCP pockets.  We can't afford another Conservative Government  Trump is gone so the don't have leadership hence Kenny's begging on your vote to go to the WRP.

Harper is still in the woodwork as a coach and advisor.   Harper's son still works in Kenny's office with a plush 100,000 dollar a year first-time job.

This brings me to Rachel Notley and the Alberta NDP.  While in office she raised Alberta GDP to the highest provincial balance in Canada!  Our Health Care was safe for our medical staff secure.  Kenny took office and put them all on notice!  He's in a bind to go onto Linkedin with his speil knowing full well I was on there.

Not the least of it is Post Media have again cut me off their Calgary site from commenting on the same subject matter.  The Fed really has to do something harsh about post media and their owner, bell media.

The extreme right in the UCP has declared itself!

The #Brian Gene, Danielle Smith segment of the UCP has declared itself as Homophobic tyrants it stands against Gay rights and inclusion.  These knuckle-dragging backwater Mormons from southern Alberta make up the majority of Kenny's crowds.  Without them, he would be talking to empty halls.

#Danielle Smith started the party off with "cancel transfer payments" leading people to think there was a massive pile of money sitting in Alberta waiting to be transferred from Alberta.  No such fund exists.  Transfer payments are paid from the Federal Tax chest.

Brian Gene continued with this BS and #Jason Kenny bought into it and pushed the idea until I busted them on a Calgary Sun rant.

The party platform that Danielle Smith presented included a statement on Gay people.  "They will burn in the fires of hell"  Great politics eh?  Gene carried this forward.

Lastly (and the Mormons still believe this; Canada did nothing for Alberta in the beginning years.  It was the Chase Manhattan Bank that saved Alberta.    This BS flew, believe it!  It was a play on words.  Canada had received money from Ottawa from conception forward for half a century but, it wasn't called Transfer payments at that time.

I take the time to write this bit of history as this makes the rank and file of the Conservative following appear as they should.   That and funds donated by corporations who are looking forward to tax brakes, not realizing we are competitive with the world at large.

The "New Conservatives"

'are mostly the same bunch that bilked the Heritage Trust Fund for some 760 billion dollars leaving office while thieving 7 billion from Government held pension funds.

On the latter, they denied it was stolen cash they were using until they were threatened with court action.  Only then did they admit to the thievery from AIMCO and made arrangements with the Unions to put the cash back.

AIMCO at the same time posted a loss of 7 billion dollars attributing it to bad investments when every other segment of their industry was showing a 3%  profit.   That's what tweaked me to the scam.

Even more important, they have not had a whisper out about climate change and what they plan on doing about it. The Alberta NDP has put Alberta at the top of the world in proactive cures for climate change and the NDP Alberta plans are being studied and adopted around the world.

Meanwhile, we are close to a full recession in the world, not just Alberta and Canada.
Yet the Conservatives talk about deficit financing.  They would much prefer to have the breadlines of the 30s back on our streets.

Much of the NDP problems come because of the lack of the Heritage Fund which is a Conservative fault; not NDP.  How easy it would be if we had that 760 billion to work with now!

The Wild Rose Party started off on a pack of lies foundation of which was they were going to do with the Equalization payments.  Alluding to Alberta having a large fund that is transferred to Ottawa every year.  No such thing exists nor has it ever existed!  The payments come from general tax revenues and are paid by Ottawa.

Another inherited problem of the NDP was the lack of infrastructure spending by the Conservatives. Now when we don't have money schools and hospitals have to be replaced or repaired!  Most outstanding are the High River Flood.   The Conservatives knew of this for 15 years and did nothing!  And, because of this, your house insurance went up 30% to pay for it.

In fun to sit and complain at Government but when you hold the Conservatives up for a comparison the NDP look really, really great and are doing an equally great job.

Climate change and the state of the world is drastic.

Due to continued rising sea levels and accelerated calving of glaciers increasing wave action; I predict the locations of the massive flooding in the US will soon become uninhabitable and the source of mass migration unlike any we have seen to date!  Likewise islands and coastal cities throughout the world.

I'm adding this excellent link which is animated in such a way as to be mind-boggling and in support of my article.

For years we have been told to turn down our heat, don't idle our vehicles so long etc. and nothing came of it! Now we have no choices. There is a hope the carbon tax will encourage this kind of thinking.  Conservative rail against it but offer no solutions.  The Wild Rose Party are in complete denial as are most Conservatives.  Their policy and action come from the LDS Church as does most of their candidates. The Mormon church has more cash on hand than most countries!

The arctic tundra is melting which can release a further 2.5 times the CO2 than is present in the atmosphere.  Earth orbit is elliptical and we are moving away from the sun as we should be but, rather than cool off we are still heating up! Ocean currents are changing, the oceans are rising!  Currents and changing and sharks and "southern" species are showing up in "northern" waters.

Greenland's ice is melting fast as is Antarctica and the arctic causing sea level to start rising.  Along with our glaciers where we get our drinking water from, receding rapidly adds greatly to our problems.
If we don't get this heating under control we will fail as the human race! Cities by the ocean will start flooding and you will witness a migration that will stagger your imagination!

Waves are gnawing at the cliffs of Herschel Island!  The town of Tuktoyaktuk which for comparison was palm size is now thumb size and the tundra, in general, is eroding now; into the arctic ocean.  This, in turn, will accelerate heating of the Arctic because of the dark particles in the water.
Earth orbit is elliptical; we are moving away from the sun as we should.  We are into a 5000-year journey to apex  But; we are still heating rather than cooling as we should be!  Then, it's 5000 years back to circular around the sun.
Conservatives tried, and even argue for carbon cap and trade with does nothing for the environment and gives corporations a huge tax deduction at one end and a huge tax credit on
The world, not just  Canada and Alberta is moving towards carbon charges. There is no other way.  PM Trudeau was recently in meetings with the Saudi.  The Saudi announced billions to invest in silicon sun generation was one outcome.  Get used to wearing a sweater and turn down your dam thermostat and air conditioning. 

Pumping carbon dioxide down the hole in as they do in Saskatchewan results in an explosion of carbon dioxide out of the hole running for many hours ahead of any oil showing up and sounding like a jet plane but conservative is after the residual oil in those fields.
On the other hand, there is news of mixing carbon dioxide with cement; holding it firm and making the cement last longer too.

Fritz said the majority of the coastline on Herschel Island, like much of the Arctic, is subject to erosion in the summer when the sea ice retreats.
"Since 2007, we've seen one minimum after the other regarding sea ice distribution in summer on the Arctic Ocean. That gives rise to higher waves, more storms that can affect the coast to erode it."
When that coast is eroded, the nutrient-rich soil mixes with the seawater and creates massive plumes of sediment. Fritz said the effect that murky water has on the marine ecosystem is unknown.
"With that sediment comes a lot of carbon and lot of nutrients, and those nutrients and pollutants will affect the water column," he said.
"We ask ourselves the question 'with this higher load of sediments, of nutrients and also of pollutants, what is happening with the food web' and we don't know."

Scientists are predicting catastrophic lake drainage now.
When Conservatives rail against a carbon tax, they are in denial of our circumstances.   Our economy will adjust to the new realities and ongoing abrupt changes.  Abrupt? Yes; they will accelerate.

All this on top of a world presently in recession and a position of universal deficit spending again, not just Canada and Alberta but the world!!
And to put it on an entirely different scale:  Thirty years ago there was little or no conversation on Climate Change.  A few scientists were shouting through the darkness about it but, nothing showing up in the weather!
In just this 20 years we have progressed to wild weather patterns, all extremes.  Floods, Fires, tidal surges and wave actions.  Tornados and Hurricanes around the world.

Now we see the Arctic Tundra melting which has two times as much Carbon Dioxide and Methane in it as does our present atmosphere!  

What kind of a horrid situation are we going to be facing in just another 20 years?

A lesson in US Civics:

What happens when the losing candidate gets most votes?  Well, Trump is not president until December 19^th and any time up to and including that date the Electoral College can change their minds but; you can be sure they won’t.

This proposal has been put forward over 700 times!   However, it takes a @constitutional change to enact a law to remove the College.

#To change the US constitution, requires the house and senate to both approve the change with 2/3 majority plus the change, if it gets that far it must be ratified ¾ of the states.  Canada is much more straight forward but the Wild Rose Party would like to take us in the US direction.

 

The Electoral College was put into the Constitution to protect the voting public (can you believe?) from demigods or very corrupt presidential candidates.

Speaking of demigods.  @Trump has ripped up all the US environmental agreements even though the Arctic Tundra is melting and earth’s elliptical orbit is on track and; we are still heating up!

During the election, Trump told the U S that #global warming was a farce dreamed up by the Chinese to injure US economy. Now he is saber rattling about the South China sea pointedly taking US attention off the middle east.  It is easy to see why his comradeship with Mr. @Putin was so easily formed.

His policies are the epidemy of protectionism complete with walls and fences.  Wait until he goes to work on the rest of his rhetoric.  @Saudi’s will have to dig in.  Perhaps the US will be an unwelcome guest on their middle east airports and military bases?  New middle east alliances?  @Turkey

How I see the results?

China can put more onto Trump’s plate than the US is capable of handling.  Starting with pulling or selling off their US dollars.  A crippling move!

I must explain the US has a half dozen ways of measuring unemployment but you really have to dig for the totals.  Their popular figure is 2% where in fact that is just one iconic measurement. There is a large segment that have used up their equivalent of EI so are not counted as unemployed.

Trump took office with 8 million Americans unemployed.  Perhaps he’s ready for war?  I don’t know.  But, he may see a robust military build up and engagement as being a way  out of recession which, has been proven so many times, not to work at all.

If he follows up in his present course, it will leave Russia to get rid of ISIS and anyone not friendly with Assad and firmly install the old regime (Assad) who Russia backs and it will be left to Israel to clean up a mess.

The next 4 years are going to be hell on earth!

Up to date summary with the players mapped out.

It blows my imagination when I think of Albertans still voting for Conservatives who have done nothing but rob them blind for the past 15 years or more. 

I will map it out:

They have taken more than 700 billion dollars from our heritage Savings and Trust fund, They did this by limiting the growth to 5% taking all above and putting it into General Revenues to spend as taxes.(we sure could have used that now)

They continue to operate as an extension of the oil cartels rather than custodians of this province!

Starting about 10 years ago they discounted our oil going to market by 30% this shorted the Alberta Producers and the Alberta economy this effectively moved 30% of the revenue out of Alberta and Canada and into the pockets of the oil principals in the US Gulf Coast who in turn made huge profits exporting.

Our losses over this period of time, on this one item I would place at a minimum of 3 Trillion dollars!

When our deal on oil was first made, we got 34% of sales on the finished plant but only charged 1% until the built plant was paid for in full with no audits on costs. Albertans paid for those plants 110% This is when Ralph Klein took over. When Klein left office the drain was already on the Heritage Trust fund and our royalty was down to 16% the lowest in the world! We only discovered this when Fred Dunn Alberta Auditor General chided the Government for collecting only 16% of the royalty when they were telling the public we were at 19%. 

This prompted a hate Fred Dunn campaign by the Conservatives, they cut the auditor general budget to nothing forcing him out of office because he couldn't afford to do anything.

There was an interim Energy Minister then, Ron Liepert who announced on TV that Albertans should learn to tighten their belts. Our royalty was down to 6% and was going to fall from there. Our royalty for the past 2 years has been zero%

Just a few weeks ago it was announced there would be a $30 addition to every power bill in the province as a power line build tax. There is no ending date on this. There are 1.5 million meters spinning in this province which means a billion dollar rip off every 2 years!

We are shedding population like a dog sheds flees!  As the population numbers plummet we will be expected to pay still more probably through our well established indirect taxation system, the utilities. There is no shortage of water. Oil companies asked for a basin of water and were given an allotment of a swimming pool. In this way the Conservatives on one side would say we are out of water (allotments) an oil on the other side could say how responsible we are, we didn't use our allotment!

Our problem is not spending which brings me to the Wild Rose Party. They are born and raised in Southern Alberta Guided by the LDS church who contribute heavily to the US Republicans and have taught that considerable population in southern Alberta that a hard conservative Government is the only way to survive.

They know from experience that a Republican Government or a Conservative Government or something even more ugly, the Wild Rose Party will cut social programs forcing people back to the church and their famous community cellar for their daily ration.

To give the LDS credit they are the first to have boots and supplies on the ground on world disasters, well ahead of most governments, being well funded through perks and supplies from the various Republican Governments.

The Wild Rose Party say time again it is the spending that is out of order, too much money sent to Ottawa. What they are talking about is the cornerstone of what makes Canada, Canada!

The Transfer payments they are so vocal about cutting off cannot Legally be cut off but it doesn't stop them from saying so. They justify this by saying Alberta has never received funding from Ottawa and in private they talk about how it was the Chase Manhattan Bank that saved Alberta in those early days.

In fact Alberta received equalization-transfer payments from conception until 1947 and again from 1957 to 1965. We got our share of the program when we needed it! It is a Canadian solution so both Harper and the WRP want to end it. Harper put his election crew in charge of the WRP election campaign for Smith and Dinning, now a lobbyist for the oil companies was their poster boy and occasional commenter.

We were often compared to Norway who had a similar oil output to Alberta. Norway has over 1 trillion dollars in offshore banks, now acting as the Bankers for Europe! They have a taxation system in their country that operates their country. This all done to protect their industry.

They offer free university for those who want it. They have state of the art medical facilities and availability that is second to none.

This highly educated group turn out 70% of their population for every vote. The Conservatives got in with just 23% because voter turn out in Alberta was so dismal; like wise Canada!

This crisis for which we have no backup is going to last a minimum of 6 years! More than likely 8 years with never a full recovery. We have lost all our markets; customers with exception of a trickle into Cushing Ill. And, Obama is busy laying 11,600 miles of new pipelines. My guess is hooking up the 5 US authority districts for oil. That way they would take advantage of more bits of storage here and there.

The Conservatives are lying through their teeth going into an election where they will continue to do the same thing over and over as they have done in the past. Please, learn from it!

One other very important item: Alberta put up a make work program for the oil patch in the last major downturn. It was to cover the large amount of illegal immigrants working oil.  Being illegal they did not have EI nor the regular support.  It was miner; lasted 2 years at the end of which time the Conservatives announced it had cost taxpayers 6 billion dollars.  (More lies I know for a fact these people were getting 1 or 2 days a week work, certainly not 6 billion dollars worth)

Knowing full well they never had that kind of money (very little in fact) I checked the AIMCO financial statement just released and it showed AIMCO posting a 7 billion dollar loss while other like companies were posting 3% gains. 7 billion was a 10% loss a difference of 13%

AIMCO supposedly look after the municipal and Government pension funds. I contacted the unions who entered into the fray with the Government who denied for 3 weeks they did not touch the pension funds.

When they were hit with the prospect of court and AIMCo producing their books in that court in disclosure the Government relented. Yes they did take the money and arrangements were made to repay.

So, in this one single action the Alberta Conservatives proved themselves to be Liars, thieves and cheats. Smooth move to show their colors so clearly.

Kinder Morgan has announced the building of a storage capacity in Edmonton; an additional 4.8 million barrels. That is because US national storage is filling up. We are heading into our slow season for oil; heating is off. Cushing is rapidly filling up and its too expensive by comparison to the price of oil to build new pipelines from Cushing to the Gulf coast. And, that section isn't on Obama’s list.

How did all this come about!

Merkel the all powerful German Conservative wanted an embargo on Russia. Harper joined in; he didn’t want to be left out. Lord help those who don’t show up for the tea party. Germany imports all her oil, the lower the prices go the better off they are!  Gotta love politics!

Russia immediately put Gazprom to work who inked a long term very cheap deal with China on LNG and Oil. China to this point was the Wests big dream of a continuing market. China responded by putting its 5 LNG plants in Indonesia up for sale citing they were not making enough money. (As compared to cheap gas from Russia) No takers yet. But, this threw the Saudi into a BTU war with Indonesia to protect the Saudi market. It affected the whole world as prices plummeted.

Obama didn't help things by curtailing Saudi access to the Gulf Refineries. More pressure on Saudi; more price cutting and more cheap oil out.

Another market was Japan who were buying LNG at 17.00 per mcf and the west and Indonesia were buying at 3.00 per mcf. Japan asked for some relief in prices as their economy was sinking. They were told no!

A new election produced a new Government who immediately put back online its 3 remaining nuclear plants and promised to build 6 more in the next 2 years. Their economy has already improved but the dream market of Christie in BC and the west in general had disappeared.

I am going to support the Alberta NDP. They are fiscally responsible and sane. The latter as important as the first and I think I have demonstrated that socialism is safe and that the Conservative failed state is really the source of our problems.

Complaining on line is not going to change anything! The only change will come by you turning out and voting when the time comes! And yes, your vote does make a difference!

And to the people in Southern Alberta; have you not been manipulated long enough.

Fracking not out of Control Debate

The working word in the Calgary Herald  article is "not entirely right" obviously a hedge!

This stuff started with the Coal Bed Methane extractions a couple years ago. Obviously not counted in the article!  A series of holes are punched through the water aquifer into the sub strata where the gas is. Cementing should take place to seal the holes. However private investigations show the garbage from the sub strata in southern Alberta has migrated into the Water Aquifer for several miles!

The substrata garbage contains a lot of stuff some not identified. However, it also contains heavy metals notably arsenic and cyanide. Sure, in the Governments view a little of this stuff in your drinking water will make your hair grow nice and shiny but, not everyone agrees.

 Conservatives and Wild Rose are under pressure to import a bunch of workers. In the Conservative philosophy Alberta must survive on taxes alone. No revenue collected from royalty that is rightly ours; The little revenue from land leases which have dropped to their lowest in history may or may not be on the invitation of the Conservatives.  Recent complaints to the Feds about steel workers being laid off and replaced by foreign casual is only the tip of the iceberg!

Because Universities have been severely cut back in revenue the oil and business professionals are being brought in from around the world; not Alberta.  Kids still go to trade schools for quick bucks with the idea they can simply jump into university when they get the cash.  Nothing is further from the truth as the education they get is completely inadequate!  

That still is not enough to get the taxes needed to run the province so they open up the province for wholesale (very cheap or not returns) on industry as the push to rip resource out of the ground like there is no tomorrow.   The object isn't production so much as getting the employment numbers up, mostly foreign to get them or the WRP elected again (it doesn't matter to them!)

The revenue we are not collecting on oil and gas (hundreds of billions of dollars) does not stay in Alberta. It goes to the parent companies in the US and abroad. Collecting such revenues will not affect employment!

Albertans' have to give their head a shake and get off this Conservative-Wild Rose bandwagon that is a mindless; lazy position that is robbing you, your kids and grand kids of their rightful futures.  You are rapidly loosing  your public school system!

The shortage of revenue works in the Conservative favour! Now they can press harder for private schools, cut health care even further. The list goes on. There is not a Conservative Government in History that has produced a surplus!

The first thing Harper did in taking office is give away 75 million dollars in surplus funds to corporations on unnecessary tax breaks; none of which has shown up back into the economy!

Alberta Heritage Savings and Trust fund - deliquent!

The Alberta Heritage and Trust Fund has been under financial attack by the ruling Conservatives for more than a dozen years!

In this time more than 160 billion dollars has been taken out of the fund, put into the Governments General Operating funds where it has been used like a petty cash account to pay everyday expenses!  They have admitted to only 90 billion dollars to date but the draw continues ongoing.

This represents 160,000 loss for every man woman and child in the province of Alberta!  Broke? Now, you know why!

Many of the politicians who started the maximum draw down have left the Conservative party and are now running for the Wild Rose Party; most as officers of the party.  Alberta can look for nothing better if they are allowed to succeed. 


Recently, they have been busted for stealing Alberta Government and municipal pension funds in their trust.  This is a new deal for them, they have been doing it for just a couple of years taking from the accounts held by AIMCO.  This theft is for 10 to 12 billion dollars  (10 or 12 thousands of dollars for every man woman and child in the province). 

AIMCo have posted a 8 billion dollar loss this year alone. This, at a time when other pension funds in Canada have appreciated by .5 %.  The Alberta Government is their only real customer.


One has to wonder where the RCMP are.  AIMCO is not Government and holds no other protection from prosecution so far as I know.


If Albertans do not vote in this coming election and settle on a party outside of the Conservative club, we will have absolutely nothing left!


In the interest of our jobs and industry, I will be supporting the Liberal Party of Alberta often referred to as Red Conservatives.

Wild Rose Party Fanitics show their colors!

Daniel Smith, the mouth piece for this crew of Southern Mormans has declared the state funded health care system is the fault of today's health care predicaments.

She does not bother to say that under that system if you have no job you have to health care!

She does not say that Seniors in the US are frightened out of their lives by their Medicaid being underfunded and, they have no other means.

She does not say there is presently 55 million, soon to be 70 million Americans that are without any kind of health care coverage at all and are unable to obtain even the most rudimentary care and medications.

Obama's Health Care Reforms were defeated by the Daniel Smiths of the south.  Why any one in their right minds would entertain voting for this bunch of extremes is beyond me!
