West coast pipelilnes

Kinder Morgan took a look a what Alberta was paying to get oil to the Gulf.  It worked out at the time to .50 cents a barrel by pipeline and 2.50 per barrel by rail.

They were never accused of being slow up the uptake and seen a lot of pipeline gold sitting on the table for anyone to take!

The put their proposals forward to the oil industry who were in no way tethered by costs or restrictions under the Conservatives.   These proposals were very high, some would call it a ripoff but really it was all the market could bear!   Syncrude was the only company to complain about the exorbitant pricing!

Now, Kinder Morgan wants to tell Premier Notley what the pipeline is all about!  Who could have guessed?

Ted Morton whom I never ever thought I would agree with, has a proposal to move oil through a pipeline following more or less the rail lines to Prince Rupert.  Prince Rupert is unquestionably the finest port on the west coast of North America!

It is built on an underwater precipice dropping hundreds of meters sheer down,  Possibly more!  This would accommodate the world's largest supertankers in a hazard free environment.

As I see it we have an interest in the marketing  of the oil.

I say the #NDP give @Ted Morton an audience before she takes any take it or leave it meetings with #Kinder Morgan who have proven they are strictly in the rip off what you can business.

http://medicinehatnews.com/

The Medicine Hat News distinguishes its self by blocking  IP addresses on their political news.

In my situation, I caught Brian Jean out in a popular lie telling people of the previous disastrous Royalty Revies by Stelmach.  I poined out in a post, rather nicely I thought, that there never has been a previous royalty review and Brian Jean was simply misleading people to make his case (whatever that was at the time.

This was the second time they blocked me having no regard for he fact I had paid the cash they demanded to join in discussion on their paper.

This means paying them for access by no means guarantees you will have access.  If in fact they disagree with your position on any subject their first tool in their shop is block your access.

It is my experience (considerable) that any news available on the Medicine Hat paper is readily available on any other major paper a better bang for your buck.

They even sent me an email with a false contact email on it for use if I should encounter problems.

Any coin you spend on this paper is at risk!

Just how free is oilès free ride in Alberta

Oil has had a free ride in Alberta for the past 30 years.  Notley was hired by the electorate to fix that!  Albertan are paying the oil industry to take the resource from the province; it is not even a break even deal.

Our last royalty was 16% taken in Canadian funds on a US priced product.  This lowly royalty was taken from us during Ron Liepert’s rule and amongst  great fanfare the Conservatives celebrated a 15% carbon tax placed on the oil sands.  Where did the other 15% go to-

We now collect zero as royalty revenue.  Ron Liepert also said  Albertans have to get away from their feeling of entitlement; tighten  up your belts!

We pay for their transmission lines built specifically for them to export their electricity to the US!   You may recall Syncrude getting caught up in a major lawsuit with California for overcharging them on electricity (transmission via BC).  Montana already has the receiving lines in place in Alberta to accept the new DC current from Alberta.

This is a trick is in the jurisdiction.  If Alberta crosses a border with a power line, the Fed has a say in the pricing of the electricity. So, Montana crosses into Canada avoiding this.

Another trick on the lines.  DC power lines are larger in diameter than the AC lines.  This is because DC travels on the outside of the line building no resistance (reactance itès called in power transmission) This means the DC can be finitely controlled; no waste generation.  Producers expect a 30% increase in profit DC over AC.

And, both AC and DC can be moved in the same lines simultaneously should the need be required.

We pay for oils roads, their water!   As I said on the onset, we are actually paying them to take the resource from the province.

Why to vote $$ summary

A 1% increase in taxes is hardly a choke! #Notley unlike her BC and Saskatchewan name-sake (not part of her ideal or party) has laid out for the world to see an ideal, well through-out even non-partisan plan to Govern and vetted as viable by Conservative hawks.

If you are a merchant making more than 150.000 a year profits you will pay an additional 1%.

But that same merchant should worry about where his customers are going to come from! Alberta has the highest percentage of working poor in the western world! How many coins do you think they have to drop in your store?

Better you worry about the well-being of the population at large than the corporations who have sucked billions, even trillions out of Alberta.

Think! The Conservatives have gone through much more than 700 billion dollars from the Heritage trust fund; flushed through the General Revenue account.

They have discounted our oil bound for the Gulf Coast by 30%; this according to High Commissioner Stewart Beck addressing India, posted on Financial Post. That is 30% ripped out of the pockets of producers in this province and the province to satisfy Conservative values. That, over 15 years would amount to Trillions lost revenue.

The Wild Rose Party had always (over 20 years, yes; I have known them) had the policy to do away with the transfer payments.

They have never had it out front until Harper put his election sharks in to run Danielle Smith's campaign. So that gives us an idea where Harper is at too. It’s part of his rather successful unite the right campaign to which he puts a lot of effort into.

NOT ONE THIN DIME OF ALBERTA PROVINCIAL TAXES GOES TO OTTAWA OR THE OTHER PROVINCES!!!

This is a myth perpetuated by Western isolationists and separatists.

It’s our federal tax dollars, just like those of all Canadians, that are pooled together and shared with the provinces and territories. And Alberta is scheduled to get about $5.5 billion dollars from Ottawa in this way in the next fiscal year, or $1,600 per capita (the same per capita as BC & Saskatchewan, BTW). So this remains an important shape of their party.

Another perpetual lie that has moved to the forefront is Stelmach's "New Royalty Regime" .pdf. It was the eve of his election; royalty review was the election hot button. The Conservatives released this .pdf with sky-high impossible numbers to inflame the voting public. It had no foundation in realism. Oil companies chipped in with the best bit of theatre this province has ever seen and all of a sudden this scrap of pure garbage became the street value truth. It was all a lie!

There was one line in 6pt print on the bottom of the page "All royalty taken in Canadian dollars" This was a loss of 18% to the province at that time. Wild rose are trying to spin it as a real effort as are different parties in Calgary. At the time I posted there is nothing in this document for Albertans!

Kevin Taft was in line to become the next premier. His party was 600,000 dollars in debt, He refused to engage in the royalty debate and tried to redefine the election issue. Stelmach won and the Liberal Debt was paid off. He threw the election! That crew of cronies are not part of the Liberal executive anymore!

The Conservatives have known about the danger of the High River Flood for 15 years or more. They did nothing about mitigation and they could have done. They did nothing and you are now paying 30% more on your house insurance for years to come if it ever comes off!

Prentice has added 30% to your electric bills (forever?) There are over 2 million meters spinning in this province. That return them over 1 billion dollars in revenue every 2 years! As Prentice said "You are making good money you should not complain about paying more"
There is only 1 choice that is well thought out and for good reason and that is the Alberta NDP in a majority Government. We can set this wreck of a province back on is feet.

Go to Alberta--The Details top post up is the to 70 political donations from 2004 and 2010. You will find how shallow WRP donations are. Some people are expecting something back from their sure-thing bet. Possibly their private dynasty.

Braid: From PCs, rumblings about the campaign, the budget and the premier | Calgary Herald

Braid: From PCs, rumblings about the campaign, the budget and the premier | Calgary Herald

#Auditor Generals #Fred Dunn was the best we ever had. He was a game changer! He pointed out to the Conservatives they were only getting 16% royalty not the 19% they said they were getting. At the same time, he pointed out the oil safety inspection office did not have the people on staff to investigate 1/100th of the province! Also, those stuck in the office never had the budget to travel anywhere.

Effectively #Alberta was writing a bunch of fancy regulations they had #no intention of enforcing.

The Conservatives started a #hate Fred Dunn Campaign, cut the #Auditor General Budget so a point it could not function and effectively drove him out of office. The guy deserves a medal!

Rooster Butch and the popular vote.

Fred was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young' pullets,' and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs.
He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced.
This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters.

Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing.
Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells.

Fred's favorite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all!
When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover.

To Fred's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.

Fred was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Local City Show and he became an overnight sensation among the judges. The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize," but they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well.

Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most  coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention.

Vote carefully in the next election, you can't always hear the bells.
