World's best kept secret!

 China has embarked on building the world's first fusion reactor!   This will be the holy grail of the nuclear industry.  Fusion is the same process the sun works on.    A fusion reactor should only leave water as a by-product!  And, yes, it will be a game-changer.

Yes, Canada and the rest of the world have adopted a cautionary tone in their position on China.

Just a thought,  perhaps China will share the elusive technology?

WHO, China, USA

Trump has turned the Covis 19 into a dirty conversation.  Here is a link to the action board members of the WHO.  Note China is fully represented but the US is either sending in political, unqualified appointments or not attending.  The countries on this list would know of an outbreak in the first 24 hours!  It is Trump's inaction with the WHO that is killing so many Americans!

As far as Trump's claims the WHO were late reporting.  That is simply a lie in place to allow him to escape the truth.  Here's the link to events notice, a virus discovered on December 31 and on January 1st WHO had set up the IMST (Incident Management Support Team) across 3 levels of Government.   By January 5th the details of the virus, what it was and the inherent danger of it was put forward to the world.

Autopsies have been performed around the world on earlier deaths Germany found the COVID 19 Virus in deaths in early December as did France.  The people at the time had no idea what it was!  China came forward with the DNA of the COVID 19 which, got the ball rolling.

Back to Trump.  In the dealings on the Mexico Canada US trade deal, the Mexican Government said the US is sending in people picked because of their political strip not their knowledge of the subject matter!  It appears he did the same thing with the WHO who had standards for membership.

Now, we have Scheer backing the US position, embellishing it with nonsense.

Trump and the Nobel Peace Prize NO!

Kim came to the table after being chided by China.  China has a real concern about Korean immigrants flooding them.

Trump's warmongering did nothing at all for the situation other than escalating it!  China, on the other hand, did all the heavy lifting.

Kim didn't have a choice on the shutdown.
China news' most recent publication points to an epicentre for earthquakes being the site of the Korean test site. In effect, the big test of last September blew a chimney through the top of the mountain which was promptly filled with rubble.  Some radiation was picked up in China!

Earlier reports citing the same mountain said the slips in an old fault line were recorded.  They continued to say if another test of any size took place at that site it could cause catastrophic failure which would be felt globally.
This is the reason Kim came to the table and Trump hungry for a little bright spot in his otherwise dismal political career,  felt it necessary to claim his fame as being "the man" which in itself is more Trump BS.

Where Trump is off base on Trade.

Mexico for years was after the US to stop or help stop the import of automatic weapons and guns in general into Mexico.  At the time they named gun dealers in Oklahoma who were principals in this action. 

As usual, the presidents of the day chose to ignore as the NRA ramped up its rhetoric loud and long enough to block out Mexico from the US media who for some reason are also afraid of the NRA.

Trump is worried about people coming into the USA but will not give attention to the massive exports of firearms into Mexico from the USA.

China, who incidentally were the original settlers of what is now called the  USA.   They left settlements in Sacramento and further south the full length of the coastlines.  The tribes along that route and into Peru have Chinese DNA from the province that supplied the sailors and concubines for the famous treasure fleets that circumnavigated and mapped the globe by 1420  (Gavin Menzies book 1421)  Trumps fight is with the Chinese stealing intellectual properties from the US.

What he doesn't talk about is Texas who will steal everything you send to them for a trial.  Their laws are structured such that this is all legal!

The point is, Trump should clean up his own backyard before he takes the world on because he can't excite the Americans into their own production increases.

A lesson in US Civics:

What happens when the losing candidate gets most votes?  Well, Trump is not president until December 19^th and any time up to and including that date the Electoral College can change their minds but; you can be sure they won’t.   

This is the 5^th time in US history that this has happened.

Proposals are out to do away with the Electoral College which is a group of people bound by the Federal Law (Judges, Generals, Fire Chiefs, Mayors) or by the state, by pledges or law, to vote for a specific candidate chosen by the people. This proposal has been put forward over 700 times!   However, it takes a @constitutional change to enact a law to remove the College.

#To change the US constitution, requires the house and senate to both approve the change with 2/3 majority plus the change, if it gets that far it must be ratified ¾ of the states.  Canada is much more straight forward but the Wild Rose Party would like to take us in the US direction.

 

The Electoral College was put into the Constitution to protect the voting public (can you believe?) from demigods or very corrupt presidential candidates.

Speaking of demigods.  @Trump has ripped up all the US environmental agreements even though the Arctic Tundra is melting and earth’s elliptical orbit is on track and; we are still heating up!

During the election, Trump told the U S that #global warming was a farce dreamed up by the Chinese to injure US economy. Now he is saber rattling about the South China sea pointedly taking US attention off the middle east.  It is easy to see why his comradeship with Mr. @Putin was so easily formed.

His policies are the epidemy of protectionism complete with walls and fences.  Wait until he goes to work on the rest of his rhetoric.  @Saudi’s will have to dig in.  Perhaps the US will be an unwelcome guest on their middle east airports and military bases?  New middle east alliances?  @Turkey

How I see the results?

China can put more onto Trump’s plate than the US is capable of handling.  Starting with pulling or selling off their US dollars.  A crippling move!

I must explain the US has a half dozen ways of measuring unemployment but you really have to dig for the totals.  Their popular figure is 2% where in fact that is just one iconic measurement. There is a large segment that have used up their equivalent of EI so are not counted as unemployed.

Trump took office with 8 million Americans unemployed.  Perhaps he’s ready for war?  I don’t know.  But, he may see a robust military build up and engagement as being a way  out of recession which, has been proven so many times, not to work at all.

If he follows up in his present course, it will leave Russia to get rid of ISIS and anyone not friendly with Assad and firmly install the old regime (Assad) who Russia backs and it will be left to Israel to clean up a mess.

The next 4 years are going to be hell on earth!

Oil isn't going to get any better!

A news item on the CBC  tells of 100 million barrels of oil presently in storage in ships around the world.  Today the Financial posts quotes 300 billion barrels in storage and its getting worse!

I say that is light!  When we were in a simple recession, there was 300 million barrels in ships.  This stayed in ships until the USA decided the prices were low enough they could top off their nation's reserves.  Alberta should have 80 million barrels in storage in not too long a time!  Banks don't pay for oil in storage.

This time around there is no giant hole in the US waiting to be filled.

Iran is pumping out about 300,000  barrels a day of crude adding to the world's glut.  I don't trust the US  in any  part of their dealings with Iran!  My guess is Iran's oil is heading for Cushing GA. and is behind the luckless Keystone.

Look now at the market place, you have seen where the glut is firmly in place.

Consider the market place.
China, the big dream account for oil marketers is building 16 new nuclear plants!  They will replace much of their oil needs and China has the most advanced electrical distribution system in the world!  Looking into the Chinese Nuclear  a bit closer it appears these new additions are 1000 MW units. That would be I think, the Chinese version of the mini reactors which were introduced by the US with 500 MW outputs.  Genesee 3 puts out 176 MW for a comparison.   China is at 21,000 MW plus.

Japan, blackmailed into paying 17.00 per mcf of LNG got a new Government who said NO!  They immediately opened their 3 remaining Nuclear plants and promised to build 6 more in the next year or two!   That is the end of the LNG dream market.

India was running a Nuclear plant that could recover and reshape its uranium rods.  The US put pressure on them to shut it down because these plants can also produce fissionable material!
So, for a spate of time India was interested in any oil, any place; even Alberta.

Now they have completed their new nuclear facility or are close to it.

Talks between the Saudi and the Russians went no-place. In a glut like this people will be giving oil away so they don't have to pay for storage!

I will say further; we will  never, ever recover our oil industry.  The world has changed!  Nuclear is out front as the best green alternative.

No government can invent jobs overnight to fill the blanks!  People have to start thinking for themselves.
